What Does “Mama” Say About The Leaf?

We just finished a rocking series on relationships called “Losing the Leaf”. I encourage you to pick up a copy of the messages if you missed any of it. We learned many things about God’s design for relationships, and Satan’s lies about relationships.

What was God’s design for relationships? I think one of the best examples of God’s design can be found in the movie “Forrest Gump”. (Don’t judge me!) I loved this movie as a kid, and as I grew up the movie got deeper for me. Think about it. Forrest, because of his mental disability, didn’t know to “cover up”. He was just himself, raw and real, like Adam and Eve before the whole apple scandal.

We learned a valuable lesson about the enemy as well. The first thing Satan set his sights on is relationships. He targets our communities and tries to disrupt them, by removing openness and communication.

How can we combat his dirty tricks? The bible is our sword and shield, beat him over the head with it! We must also stay with our communities. We call them groups. Stay uncovered with God and your fellow group members. In a perfect world, we want to be transparent with each other … like I did when I unashamedly picked up a copy of the special edition “Forrest Gump”!
