It’s Good!

In the story of Genesis, we see God making the earth, over a course of days, and after each day he proclaims what he had made “good”.
Why “good” though? Surely the almighty Creator can do better than “good.” Why not “great” or “perfect” or “wicked awesome?”
As I thought about this, I realized something. Perfection implies completion. God never completed his task of creation because he wanted to leave it up to us to complete. God commanded us to “be fruitful and multiply” – to create new life – and he gave Adam the creative task of naming all the animals and plants in the garden. Since then God has used farmers, artists, architects, singers, soldiers, musicians, poets, kings and millions of others to help Him in His creative process – glorifying and building and shaping His kingdom here on earth.
God knew that humans bear His image – and part of that image is creativity. Since the dawn of time God has been in the creative business, and He’s invited us to be a part of it! He’s invited YOU to be a part of it! So glad you have accepted that call and stepped out in faith – keep seeking Him for the strength and faith to complete the task He’s called each of you to!
