There’s an epidemic spreading throughout our culture. It’s burning through our families like wildfire. It is targeting our youth and middle-aged alike! And it must be stopped.
Of course, as you can tell, I’m referring to the online sharing board known as “Pinterest.” It’s taking over the world!
All joking aside, my wife Holly loves Pinterest and it really has given us some cool creative crafts and ideas for our family! Last week while she was perusing she brought a certain post to my attention that I wanted to share with you in this blog. It is all about parenting, or caring for, extroverts.
Each day I am reminded of the joy it is to be a parent. And I am simultaneously shocked at how different two kids from the same parents can be! What works to discipline, encourage, motivate and connect with one child, doesn’t necessarily do the same with another.
How To Parent Kids Who Are EXTROVERTS:
- Respect Their Independence
- Compliment Them In The Company Of Others
- Accept And Encourage Their Enthusiasm
- Allow Them To Explore
- Thoughtfully Surprise Them
- Understand When They Are Busy
- Let Them Dive Right In
- Offer Them Options
- Make Physical And Verbal Gestures Of Affection
- Let Them Shine
As parents of two wild and crazy young children, this info has been pretty insightful for us already. I hope it helps your family as well.
Also, check back next Wednesday as I will be posting part 2 of this blog, How To Parent Kids Who Are INTROVERTS.
