New Fall Semester fp Women’s Groups Studies Begins Tuesday, September 11th, 6:30pm at the Pellissippi Campus.

Groups Beginning Tuesday, September 11 @ 6:30 p.m.:

One in a Million by Priscilla Shirer and led by Catherine Barnette. Priscilla encourages participants to fully engage in the abundant life God has waiting for those who will allow Him to take the lead in daily living. One in a Million is an opportunity for you to experience your deliverance from strongholds, to conquer your wilderness living, and to claim your God-given inheritance. (7 weeks)

Chase the Goose: Reclaiming the Adventure of Living a Spirit-Led Life by Mark Batterson and led by Brenda Moore is a Scriptural challenge to leave behind common misconceptions about the life God wants for His followers, so that we can learn about His true nature and pursue the passions He has placed in each of our hearts. True Goose-chasers will study the lives of Nehemiah, Moses, Abraham, Peter, Paul, and Jonathan as they learn to leave behind the cages of responsibility, routine, guilt, failure, assumptions, and fear that have held us back in the past. Chase the Goose is an opportunity to join the journey of never knowing where you’ll end up, who you’ll meet, or what you can do as you follow the Holy Spirit into the spiritual adventure God has planned for all Christ-followers. (6 weeks)

James: Mercy Triumphs by Beth Moore and led by Vicky McCarter provides a personal study experience five days a week. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. James, Jesus’ own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. (8 weeks)

Groups Beginning Wednesday, September 12 @ 10 a.m.:

Esther: It’s Tough Being a Woman by Beth Moore and led by Kristin McLaughlin is an in-depth women’s Bible study of Esther – a profile in courage. Join Beth in a very personal examination of this great story of threat and deliverance as she peels back the layers of history and shows how very contemporary and applicable the story of Esther is to our lives today. If you’ve ever felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into situations that seemed overpowering, this is the Bible study for you. Just as it was tough being a woman in Esther’s day, it’s tough today. This portion of God’s Word contains treasures to aid us in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives. (9 weeks)

Bible study of Psalms 120-134 – Traveling pilgrims sang these psalms both on the way to the great festivals of the LORD and as key elements of the worship at those festivals. Just as a song or poem can express feelings of fear, doubt, hope, and joy, these 15 psalms model how we can voice our own petitions and praises to our God, who is always available and ready to hear us.
