Getting Started

Main Idea:
Invite people to experience Jesus in an experience called A Christmas Spectacular.

Discussion Starter:
We talk about what we think about, and we think about what we love. What do you love? What do you think about? What do you get excited about sharing with friends?

This week marks a two week countdown to A Christmas Spectacular. Pastor Chris preached on Ezekiel 33 and our duty as watchmen.

Encounter God

Primary Scripture: Ezekiel 33:1-11

Discussion Questions:

1. In verses 1 and 2 of this passage, the Lord spoke to Ezekiel and asked him to speak to his (Ezekiel’s) people. Elsewhere the Lord calls Israel His (God’s) people. Why do you think this is? Who are your people?

2. What is the watchman’s duty? Do you consider yourself a watchman? Why or why not?

3. Read Matthew 5:13-16. What is stopping you from speaking to your people? Brainstorm solutions as a group. Encourage each other to be obedient to God’s word.

Discovery Bible Method:
For deeper study, as an alternative to the questions above, read Ezekiel 33:1-11 and use the Discovery Bible Method to explore our duty as watchmen.

Embrace Others

Suggestion: Consider breaking the group into dyads or triads for this section.

What has God taught you this week during your quiet time? How are you preparing your heart for Christ this Advent season?

Engage the World Around Us

Engaging at Faith Promise: We are praying for 15,000 people to experience A Christmas Spectacular. In order to accommodate this many people, we need volunteers! Sign up to volunteer at your campus.

Engaging in Community: As you prepare for gift giving and receiving this Christmas, take some time to clean out items you no longer need. Donate these gently used items and clothes to your local KARM thrift store.

Engaging the World: Pray as a group for the Faith Promise missionaries serving far from home.

Expand God’s Kingdom

Who will you invite to A Christmas Spectacular?
