Join Us for The fp Young Adult Group’s Karaoke Party, Thursday, February 2nd, 7:00 pm at the Pellissippi Campus

Young Adults, it’s time to get your sing on!

Faith Promise Young Adult Groups is throwing a Karaoke Party to jumpstart the year. This party is exclusively for young adults 18-30 years of age. So, if you are a young adult please come and be sure to invite all your young adult friends to the fp Pellissippi Campus on February 2nd at 7 pm in Satellite 1. Dinner and childcare are provided!!!! That’s right, parents … Free Childcare!!! (childcare provided until 9pm) There will be some exciting contests/games and prizes! And don’t worry; you don’t have to sing if you don’t want to. Just come out and have fun!!

A karaoke party is a really fun way to bring us all together and help create connections. Whether it’s taking that next step in your relationship with God by joining a group, or beginning to serve, or just to come and hang out. This party is the place to be.

Events like this are so important to the young adult community, as we all know how difficult it can be at times to bring everyone together. This generation goes through just leaving the nest and starting college to getting married, having kids and starting a career. Needless to say, we’re BUSY – busy being pulled in so many directions.

Most young adults stop connecting in the church body during these years. Thankfully, many find their way back, but what the fp Groups Ministry strives to do is keep us all connected even through these trying years. We are committed to helping young adults grow and connect. Young Adult Groups are vital part of the Groups Ministry here at Faith Promise Church. As with all of our groups, we focus on creating environments for people to connect with God and others.

Register here for childcare.

A New Year. A New Job. A New You.

It’s that time of year when hope is high. The changing of the calendar brings a sense of newness. Anything is possible again.

Unfortunately, despair has a way of finding us. Even the top CEOs are feeling it creep up on them.

Thankfully, the next breakfast hosted by KnoxWorx is just around the corner.

We’ll be meeting in The Square Room @ Cafe 4 at 7:30 AM on Thursday, January 26th. Parking is available on the street or in The Market Square Garage.

The first gathering included some open and honest dialog from Coach Phil Fulmer and Doug Banister. Both have reached mountaintops that few have experienced. But both have experienced the pain of a job loss and the ensuing transition.

The connection was apparent with those who attended.

Thank you so much for Thursday, it was very much good for the soul!!!

Thanks for your efforts in this difficult environment.

On the 26th, Coach Bruce Pearl will be joining us to share his story.

We’ll also be sharing some practical advice to help you get your foot in the door for an interview. Plan on bringing two copies of your resume.

To save your spot, please register here. And share the news.

UT Campus Launch

This past Sunday, October 9, Faith Promise launched its fourth campus – this time on the University of Tennessee. We are thrilled to become one of only a few churches nationwide that meet on a university campus, and 250 people were in attendance for the service.

Please join us in praying that this campus will reach many and continue to grow as students invite their friends and others hear about what is happening in this place.

3rd of July Celebration!

Dear Faith Promise Family,

Thank you so much for honoring me and Michele this past weekend for our 15 year anniversary at FPC.  It really is a joy to be your Pastor and to minster alongside each of you as we follow God’s vision for our church together. I love you all!

It is time for our annual Independence Day celebration from 5 – 10 pm on Sunday, July 3, at the Hardin Valley Campus of Pellissippi State Community College, and I could not be more excited!  Last year we had over 10,000 in attendance, with many saved and baptized that evening.  This year I ask you to join me in praying for 11,000 in attendance, 200 professions of faith and 100 people following the Lord in believer’s baptism on the spot.  It is going to be an amazing evening, and I can’t wait to see all that God will do!  If you have not yet signed up to volunteer, it is not too late. Help is still needed in several time slots; please click here to register to serve.  By doing so you can be a part of helping to change someone’s life forever!

For those of you who attend our Pellissippi Campus, we will not be having our regularly scheduled services on July 2-3.  Since we will not be collecting a physical offering this coming weekend at that campus, I would like to encourage you to click here to go online to give your tithes and offerings.  God is really moving and blessing us and we need your continued prayers and monetary support for all of our ongoing ministries. Thank you in advance for being faithful in giving to His Kingdom through FPC during the summer months.

Beginning July 9-10, we will have an exciting new 4-week sermon series called, Updraft.  Isaiah 40:31 tells us that, “Those who wait upon the Lord will soar like eagles.”  Join us each weekend during the month of July as we discover how God has called us all to soar beyond fear and ascend to new and greater heights of faith.  If you are traveling, remember you can still worship with us online on Sundays at 9:00, 10:20, and 11:45 am, and 9:00 pm.

Also, please remember that our church offices will be closed on July 4-5.  Regular office hours will resume on Wednesday, July 6, at 8:00 am.

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend!

Father’s Day Weekend is Here!

Hello Faith Promise Family,

I want to encourage you to worship with us this coming weekend, June 18-19, as we present an all-new dramatic production, A Father’s Love. This captivating depiction of the search for perfect love will touch the hearts of all those who attend. We have provided an easy way for you to invite others online by going to our website.  I can’t wait to see how God will move during this drama as we see the love of the Father displayed through a daughter’s eyes.

We will also have a unique video featuring our Senior Staff that you won’t want to miss!  For a sneak peek of the Dad’s Life rap click here. If you want to be in on what people are talking about around the water cooler at work next week, be here!

I pray that you are having an awesome time of refreshing and renewing with your families as you vacation this summer.  Remember, you can keep up with all that is happening here at FPC when you are out of town by worshipping with us online at 9, 10:20 and 11:45 am, or 9:00 pm.

I love you and look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Family Life: The Five Family Values

(This post was written by Chuck Carringer, Pastor of Family Ministries)

At Faith Promise Church we recently completed a five week family series. It was an awesome series that focused on the Five Family Values adopted by the Family Ministry Team. Below is a recap of the five values.

Make It Personal

  • Put yourself first when it comes to personal growth.
  • What we model is more compelling than what we say.
  • Where are your faith, marriage and family on a ranking of your highest values?

Fight For The Heart

  • Create a culture of unconditional love in your home.
  • Relationships are built around heart connections.
  • Legacy is transferred relationally.

Widen The Circle

  • Inviting others to intentionally partner with you to have other voices helping to shape and determine the direction of our marriages and parenting.
  • Parents should pursue strategic relationships for their kids.
  • Become a valuable contributor to someone else’s circle of influence.

Create A Rhythm

  • Much of our everyday life seems to function in a fairly steady rhythm.
  • Families want to tap into the power of quality moments together.
  • Build a sense of purpose through everyday experiences.

Imagine The End

  • Focus your energy and effort on the issues that will have a lasting impact.
  • As parents, in the end, the most important thing is our child’s relationship with God.
  • We must be intentional each day about what is most important.

How are you and your family living the five family values?
