Major Updates to the Faith Promise Website

(This post was written by Kyle Gilbert, Pastor of Communications)

Over the past few months, we’ve made plans for a major update to the Faith Promise Church website as we prepare for the launch of our Blount County Campus in October.  As Brad Roberts and I worked through the process, here are a few things we had in mind:

Let’s help people easily find information that is accurate for their campus.
While the vision, direction, teaching, and core ministries will be consistent across campuses, there are many small variations between campuses, such as different location and contact info, different service times, and different ways of getting integrated into groups.  We set out to make sure that people get the correct information based on the campus they attend or plan on attending.  This means that depending on your campus, certain page contents, graphics, and menu options will be different.

Once people have chosen a campus, don’t make them pick again.
Rather than the annoyance of having to choose your campus every time you visit the site, we’ll store that information for you and take you straight into the site.

Make it easy and intuitive to switch between campuses.
Forced selections on a website make us feel like we’ve stepped into a choose-your-own-adventure book.  (One bad choice, and you’re trapped inside a spooky house or dragged off into the woods by Big Foot.)  Instead, we tried to make the campus selection feel like a light choice that can be easily switched at any time.

Provide a solution that scales well with additional campuses.
Rather than build a system that will only accommodate three campuses (Pellissippi, Internet, and Bount), we’ve built a system that will scale as we continue to add new campuses in the future.

While we were at it, we also enabled mobile video and overhauled the blog.
When you visit the  Series Media page on your HTML5 web-enabled mobile device, you can now watch sermon videos.  In addition, our church blog got a significant facelift.

As of this evening, we’ve rolled out the update.  We’re still in the tweaking process, but you can check it out!

Our Miracle Weekend!

Dear Faith Promise Family,

The Miracle Weekend we have all been praying and fasting for is almost here!  On August 21-22, I believe we will have the most amazing day in the history of Faith Promise Church!  I am looking for God to show up in a supernatural way as we see lives saved and transformed, relationships restored, people healed, financial needs met,  and over a $1,000,000 offering given as we continue marching on toward the vision God has given us in reaching our seven surrounding counties for Him.

As the weekend approaches, please continue to fast and pray about what God is going to give you and what your part will be as we once again step out in faith for our Lord.  I believe He will pour out blessings far greater than we could ever expect or imagine!

I have never been more excited about what God is doing and I can’t wait to be a part of the miraculous experiences we will have in all five services!   Are you on board?  Please don’t miss this weekend that I know in my heart will be a benchmark for all of us here at FPC.  Be sure to get here early!

Counting down to a miracle…

New Sermon Series and Worship Labyrinth

Hello Faith Promise Family,

I am so excited about all that God is doing this summer here at FPC!  We have just finished one of our most talked about series ever on our heavenly rewards, many have been saved and we have surpassed our goal for the year with 270 baptisms.   Thank you, Lord!

We are getting ready for a new three-week series which begins on August 7-8, and I believe we are going to see some of the greatest miracles in the history of our church!  You won’t want to miss a single week as we look forward to what God will do.  Pray with me for what miracles you need and let’s believe together for the Hand of God to move in an unbelievable way!

Also, you won’t want to miss our First Wednesday service on August 4, beginning at 6:30 pm.  We will have our annual Worship Labyrinth, which will be an awesome experience as we connect with our Creator through many different types of worship.  All children and students, K – 12, will participate in the labyrinth with us.   Please remember to bring your copy of the Word of God and join us as we celebrate Him!

Looking forward to seeing you this week!

What’s n it 4 me?

Hello Faith Promise Family,

Last weekend we began what I believe is one of the best series we have ever had here at Faith Promise called, “What’s n it 4 me?” This series on heavenly rewards is something that most people have never thought about, and yet it is so important in the life of a Christ-follower.  This series will transform your life!  Click here to view my blog and learn more about your rewards from the Master!

I urge you not to miss the next three weekend’s messages.  If you are unable to attend please visit our Internet Campus as we look at what God has to say about this often overlooked subject.

Have a blessed week, and I look forward to seeing you this weekend!

New Sermon Series Begins This Weekend!

Hello Faith Promise Family,

Wow!  What an AWESOME GOD we serve!  I am still blown away by all that happened at our July 4th Celebration.  With over 9,000 in attendance, hundreds of salvations, 36 baptisms and more to come, it was by far our biggest and best event ever.  Thank you, thank you, to our super volunteers and staff who gave countless hours to help make it all possible.  How blessed we are to have so many who give so much!

This weekend we will begin a challenging new four-week series on rewards called, “What’s n it 4 me?” We all like to be rewarded for the things we do here on earth, but do we stop to think about rewards that will last forever?  How do we get them?  Join us during the month of July as we search the Scriptures to find out more about the most important kind of rewards we can ever have!

I hope you are enjoying the summer with some great family time away.  Remember, you can still keep up with all that is going on here at FPC by checking out our Internet Campus!  Also, there will be NO First Wednesday service during the month of July.

Looking forward to worshipping with you this weekend!

July 4th, 2010 Celebration at Pellissippi State Community College

Hello Faith Promise Family,

This coming weekend we will celebrate our nation’s Independence Day with a huge community-wide event at Pellissippi State Community College.  On Sunday, July 4, we will all gather from 5:00 – 10:00 p.m. for an evening of food, fun, fellowship and fireworks!  Bring your family and friends as we enjoy free hotdogs, cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, inflatables, live music and a spectacular fireworks display by Pyro Shows.  At 7:00 we will have a time of awesome worship and a simple gospel presentation.  Please join with me in praying for 10,000 in attendance and for our greatest harvest of souls in the history of FPC.  I can’t wait to see what God will do!

Please remember that on Saturday, July 3, and Sunday, July 4, we will NOT have any services at our Pellissippi Campus or on our Internet Campus. Also, the church office will be closed on Monday, July 5, and we will not have a First Wednesday service during the month of July.

Together we can make a difference for our Lord as we reach out to the thousands in our area who don’t know Christ.  Have a safe and blessed holiday weekend, and I’ll see you on Sunday!
